Hello! I am new and from Toronto!

Hello! I am new and from Toronto!

Postby PaulKehayas » Tue Jun 13, 2017 12:06 am

Allow me to intro myself! My name is Paul and I am a person who has been on the prowl good sound without breaking the bank. I have been following Davey's cartridge reviews with samples for a few years and had no idea that he had a forum up. Glad I found it!
I am running a Dual 1229 into an Mx110 into an MC240 and then into 15" Tannoy Monitor Golds in Belvedere cabinets.
My carts are Shure at this point with a few others worth noting and asking about later. (Mainly an M91 and M97XE with soon to join them Vividline for the 91 and ES M97 (as Davey so put it - and I like it's new name! Or is it M97ES!)

I love my 1229 and I think it punches above it's weight. I could write more, but let's just leave it at that for now.

I love music and restoring (within my abilities) old gear.
I think there's more to me, but that'll do!

Paul,
Good to greet a kindred spirit! Good to know you are enjoying domestic audio and specifically the phonograph.

Years ago I had one MC 240 on loan from my audiophile uncle. That was great McIntosh!

Keep on enjoying!

Yes,
It was tough to give back! But that was when the first transistor design was presented by Dynaco (the Stereo 120). It became a magical exploration to assemble my very first amplifier (and having it work well for many years)!
